Andrea serves as the Director of Global Green Bank Development at the Coalition for Green Capital (CGC) where she leads efforts to bring the Green Bank model to developing countries in support of scaling up climate finance to achieve national climate goals. CGC’s International work includes formation and capitalization of Green Banks in developing countries, convening the Green Bank Network, building a framework for Green Bank creation in emerging markets, and supporting a collaborative partnership with governmental and private sector interests to advance and fund the Green Bank model around the world.
Andrea worked with the Development Bank of Southern Africa to support creation of a new Climate Finance Facility (CFF), based on the green bank model and adapted for emerging market conditions. She led CGCs efforts to secure a USD 55.6 million loan to the CFF, marking the first time the Green Climate Fund has backed the establishment of a Green Bank. Andrea is working with the Government of Rwanda to design a new Green Bank, with the African Development Bank to assess application of the Green Bank model in 6 additional African countries, speaks regularly around the world on the Green Bank model, and has co-authored papers assessing the role of National Green Banks in Developing Countries as a means to scaling up private finance to achieve Paris climate goals. Andrea serves on the Co-Secretariat of the Green Bank Network and on the core organizing team for the global Green Bank Design Summit convened in 2019. As a CGC Board member, Andrea has been a part of the CGC team for many years.
