Jessica Geoffroy came to NextEra Energy in 2018 with a decade of experience in various roles in finance and investment in New York and Los Angeles, including energy equity trading and venture capital and as a founding member of clean energy debt and private equity funds with roughly $2 billion of assets under management. Jessica also served in the Office of the Secretary at the U.S. Department of Energy, where she helped develop finance and securitization policies to support growth in clean technology adoption.
From 2020 to 2023, Jessica served as the head of investor relations for both NextEra Energy and NextEra Energy Partners, with responsibility for all communications of the companies’ financial and operational performance and business outlook with the investment community. During her time in this role, Jessica was recognized as one of the top investor relations officers in the industry, including by the National Investor Relations Institute and as part of Institutional Investor’s All-America Executive Team. Jessica subsequently spent time in NextEra Energy’s direct business investment arm as head of its financial strategy team, executing a full revamp of its investment underwriting and portfolio management practices, and most recently helped expand the company’s commodities business with private capital clients.
From 2018 to 2020, Jessica led NextEra Energy Partners’ finance team, with responsibility for all corporate and asset-level financings, transaction structuring, and other capital raising
activities for the partnership. In this role, she managed the strategic development and execution of more than $10 billion in financings, including structured debt and equity products, liquidity facilities, derivative transactions and other capital markets issuances.
Jessica holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Columbia University and two master’s
degrees, one in energy & the environment and the other in business administration, from Yale University. She currently lives in West Palm Beach with her husband and three children and is an active participant in her community, including as a Member of the Board of Directors for the United Way of Palm Beach County.
