WASHINGTON—The Coalition for Green Capital today welcomed Meghan Conklin, a former policy advisor to Senator Chris Van Hollen and senior staff member in the Obama Administration, as Policy Director.
“We are so fortunate to have Meghan join our team at this crucial moment, with bipartisan green bank legislation moving forward in Congress as part of the proposed infrastructure investment package,” CGC Executive Director Jeffrey Schub said. “Meghan has years of experience on national green bank policy, advising Senator Van Hollen and continuing that office’s years of leadership on this topic. She is joining our team at just the right moment.”
“Green banks from Colorado to Florida are in desperate need of capital,” CGC CEO Reed Hundt said. “We are excited to bring Meghan onboard and to work alongside lawmakers on Capitol Hill in the process of creating a federal green bank to support these local and state efforts.”
Conklin was most recently Policy Advisor for energy, environment, and agriculture to Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.). In the Obama Administration, she served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Transmission Permitting in the Office of Electricity at the Department of Energy, Associate Deputy Secretary at the Department of Interior, and Chief of Staff to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Conklin has also served in senior roles on the House Committee on Natural Resources and the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources.
